Version History This update fixes a crash on Apple Watch. On watches running watchOS 11 or earlier, the previous version quit as soon as a ride's recording screen appeared. I'm sorry about that. 4.4.40 Sep 22 Ready for the new iOS
I've updated the app and the Apple Watch app so everything runs smoothly on the latest iOS and watchOS. 4.4.39 Sep 16 See what iCloud is doing with your sessions
A new sync badge at the bottom of the side menu tells you at a glance whether your sessions are safely in iCloud and when they last synced. Tap it for the detail: last download, last upload, your iCloud account status, and a plain explanation if something isn't working.
Sessions recorded on your other devices now appear straight away too — I fixed the delay that had you closing and reopening the app to make them show up. 4.4.38 Aug 20 Stroke counting for paddlers. Your Apple Watch now counts your paddle strokes while you record — kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddle, dragon boat and outrigger canoe. On iPhone you get the full picture: cadence minute by minute, your best efforts, time in each cadence zone, glide per stroke, cadence against heart rate and speed, a map coloured by how hard you were paddling, and splits.
Tacks & gybes for sailors. Open a session and tap the new Tacks & gybes card: every turn you made is on the satellite map, told apart automatically as a tack or a gybe. Tap a turn to zoom into its arc and see the turn angle, minimum speed, entry and exit course, and duration.
The wind direction is estimated from your track alone — no weather data, just the way you sailed. Please check it, and if it looks wrong, adjust it with one tap. Your correction is saved with the session and syncs to your other devices. Let me know how the detection works for you — the feedback is what makes it better.
Also in this update:
The Tacks list is now called Runs — the legs you sail between turns.
With a run or turn selected, sharing now asks whether you want just that one or all of them.
Fixed the map cutting off part of the track in detail views. 4.4.37 Aug 11 Compare two sessions, side by side
Pick any two sessions and put them head to head. A clean scoreboard lays out your key numbers (distance, duration, speeds, and more), and interactive charts let you overlay both sessions for a single metric — speed, pace, elevation, or heart rate (when available from Apple Health/Apple Watch). Drag to scrub through them, switch the view by time, distance, or percentage, and share a comparison card. Requires iOS 16 or later.
Filter your session list by sport
Track more than one water sport? Now you can narrow the list down to a single sport and find the session you're looking for faster.

For surf sessions, show off your day with a share card of how many waves you caught.

Version History Compare two sessions, side by side
Pick any two sessions and put them head to head. A clean scoreboard lays out your key numbers (distance, duration, speeds, and more), and interactive charts let you overlay both sessions for a single metric — speed, pace, elevation, or heart rate (when available from Apple Health/Apple Watch). Drag to scrub through them, switch the view by time, distance, or percentage, and share a comparison card. Requires iOS 16 or later.
